Toni Ann Young paints with rhythm and
movement. She thinks of painting as a puzzle one piece
leading to the next.
Color contributes strongly to the mood of each work and she
intends for each work to have a visual richness and character
that takes it beyond just design. Toni is a signature member of
ISAP and ISEA.
Artist Statement
My work is eclectic ranging from readable abstraction to
non-objective. I have an intuitive reaction to my surroundings,
a passion for old surfaces textured by the past, sometimes the
texture is my subject. Found objects often find their way into
my work. I grind soils into pigments for paint, this allows me
to fix "place into the works."
